Three weeks of unbridled exploration, life changing experiences, and friends who will be with you for a lifetime. An epic start, half way, and finish line party, and plenty of opportunity for mischief in between. 5,000kms either on our Challenger Route from South Africa to Tanzania, or our Discovery Route from South Africa to Malawi, then back to eSwatini – This is Africa. This is the Africa Rally 2027.
Each Entry Category has it’s own unique cost, which is a one off fee for your team vehicle!
The crazier the vehicle, the cheaper the Entry Category will be… as we admire your adventurous spirit and want to reward it!

Now for the route details.
In 2027 the Africa Rally will once again run two simultaneous route options:
The Challenger Route
This route takes teams from South Africa to Tanzania, featuring key highlights of:
Botswana’s Wildlife (including White Rhino, Elephants, and Giraffes)Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Salt Pan (best place to see the stars in the night sky anywhere on earth)The World Famous Victoria Falls in ZambiaLake MalawiThe Great Migration in the Serengeti, TanzaniaMount Kilimanjaro in TanzaniaZanzibar Island (a short boat ride from our Finish Line venue)
The Discovery Route
This route mimics the Challenger Route up until the Half Way Party in Malawi, before heading South to eSwatini. On the route you can expect to witness:
Botswana’s Wildlife (including White Rhino, Elephants, and Giraffes)Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Salt Pan (best place to see the stars in the night sky anywhere on earth)The World Famous Victoria Falls in ZambiaLake MalawiThe Best Diving in Africa (in both Malawi & Mozambique)Whale Watching at Morrungulo, MozambiqueThe Natural Beauty of the eSwatini Mountains
Both routes will start from the same place, at the same time, and will cost the same amount. They are both roughly 5,000kms, and are both of a similar difficulty. The Half Way Party in Senga Bay, on Tuesday 13th July 2027 is the point where the routes diverge.
Along the way you can expect ridiculous roads…
inquisitive wildlife…
and truly epic scenery.
…but this is Africa, so anything and everything can happen – the best experiences are the unexpected ones!
What will the entry fee include?
Each year our illustrious HQ Team do their best to ensure that new sponsors are brought onboard, and that teams are treated to as many additional goodies as possible, however as a very minimum your Entry Fee will get you:
Team Entry into The Africa Rally 2027 (no additional costs per person (up to 4 people per vehicle), pay once for your vehicle)
Three all-inclusive parties at the Start, Half Way, and Finish Line venues.Free Beer, Free Wine, Free Food, and Free Camping at the aforementioned venues.A dedicated 24/7 emergency line should anything go wrong.Africa Rally Vehicles Stickers to decorate your noble steed prior to departure.Access to The Africa Rally Partner Network; these partners include Service Partners who can assist with vehicle rental or travel insurance, and Hospitality Partners who can offer discounted accommodation and activities on route.
